Drum Lessons

Equipped with full-size acoustic drum sets, students at Gilbert School of Music can feel like real rock stars! Our instructors teach rock, metal, jazz, funk, blues, and many other styles of drumming, and challenge every student with technical exercises specifically designed to improve their speed and comfort. Beginning students need only their drumsticks, and all that’s needed for practice at home is an inexpensive drum pad. Whether you want to be in your own rock band or play at church – Gilbert School of Music can help you reach that goal!

We carefully select instructors that are professionals in the music industry and/or have a college degree in music. All instructors work great with all ages and genuinely love teaching just as much as they love music. Upon registration, tell us your expectations and we will set you up with the right instructor that works for you or your child. See our Instructors page for more information on each instructor.

Our instructors challenge our students with wide-ranging technical exercises designed to improve speed and comfort. Drum language can be complex, and theory is encouraged. Our drum room is equipped with a computer and sound system. Instructors will teach students how to play rhythms along to their favorite songs!

Definitely not. Our professional, soundproof drum lesson rooms in Gilbert School of Musicare equipped with a full-size drum set for our students. Just bring your drumsticks. Beginning students can practice at home with a drum pad and sticks. Ask us upon registration for prices.

Absolutely! Every Summer and Winter, students have the opportunity to perform in a real theater and be treated like a real rockstar! Unlike most of our competitors, we do not charge students a fee to perform. All family and friends are welcome to attend. In addition to the on-stage recitals, we also provide virtual concerts and performances around the community. See our performance page for more information.
